A Celebration of Caribbean Culture!

A Celebration of Caribbean Culture!

“A Celebration of Caribbean Culture”. Five words that sum up the annual festival, Colors of the Caribbean, held over Father’s Day weekend in downtown Hollywood, FL. This free cultural extravaganza features music, arts and crafts, food, entertainment and activities, all with a taste of the Caribbean.

Colors of the Caribbean is presented by Caribbean American Heritage Florida and the Rhythm Foundation. The event just completed its third successful year and preparations have already begun for 2015. With much needed support from the City of Hollywood and the Hollywood CRA, Colors of the Caribbean opens downtown Hollywood, its residences and businesses to over 25,000 attendees over the last three years, all in search of authentic caribbean culture.

The YMCA of Broward County and the Children’s Services Council of Broward County also produce a Kids Active Zone. The zone has grown to be quite popular among families that attend the event. Kids enjoy a safe, fun evening of activities, giveaways and craft workshops, all to a soundtrack provided by top international Caribbean bands who perform during the event on the main stage. Caribbean culture overload.

Colors has proved to be a success both from the City’s and Community’s perspective. With many ideas being tossed around during planning sessions, 2015 promises to be as authentic as the last while introducing some key components which would lead to a more inclusive event and overall more memorable experience. Did someone say “Caribbean Colors Rave Music Stage….Yoga maybe?”…you never know what to expect, but you will always be guaranteed a great time when attending Colors of the Caribbean.

So save the date people. Next year! Father’s Day Weekend! Saturday June 13th! Its our annual celebration of Caribbean culture – Colors of the Caribbean. Find the event on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
